Each January 17 Valencians come together with their pets against the San Antonio Abad Parish to celebrate the feast of the saint known to his followers as Sant Antoni del Porquet.
Hundreds of neighbors come to the parish in a delegation headed by the Local Police Cavalry dress uniform dressed and followed by pets and farm animals waiting to be blessed.
Sant Antoni was a Christian monk considered the patron of domestic animals. The legend says he was a great friend to animals and, when he saw one wounded, protected him. So it was with a pig (Porquet), who, to show his gratitude, he decided to go with the rest of his life.
